Life lists

Especially with the release of Rob Reiner’s movie, “Bucket List,” this last week, lists of activities people would like to do in their lifetime make news all over the world. They can be simple lists of wishes, but they help people realize their dreams.

The New York Times story we read in class can be found here: “10 Things to Do Before This Article is Finished.”

You may also want to check out this later story, on people who keep a “life list” of places they travel: “An Arizona Road Trip on the Edge of America.”

I failed to mention another common usage of the term “life list”: Bird watchers generally keep a list of all the birds they’ve seen in their life, listed by date and location, with notes on the circumstances.

In class you created a first draft of your own life list.  How much of it will you fulfil?
